Your notes belong on your device.

OffNotes is designed around local storage, encrypted backups, and private study workflows. This policy explains what the app does, what it does not collect, and where system-level AI may have separate terms.

1. No Data Collection

OffNotes is a local-first, offline notes application.

  • No personal information: OffNotes does not require an account, email address, or name to use the app.
  • No cloud sync by default: Notes, sketches, notebooks, and documents are stored on your device.
  • No tracking: OffNotes does not use cookies or analytics to monitor your behavior.

2. On-Device AI and Leno

Leno is the OffNotes helper for study workflows, feature guidance, and AI-assisted review where supported.

  • Local processing: OffNotes prioritizes on-device AI so prompts and study material can remain private.
  • User control: AI features are part of the app experience, not a requirement for writing or managing notes.

3. Encryption and Security

OffNotes uses local security measures to protect study material on your Android device.

  • Encrypted vault exports: OffNotes can export encrypted .mneme backups for private restore workflows.
  • Android security: Device locks, biometrics, and secure key storage are handled by Android where available.
  • Private backups: You decide where encrypted vault backups are stored.

4. Data Sovereignty

Your data lives on your device. If you delete the app, erase your device, or lose access to local files without an exported backup, OffNotes cannot recover your notes for you.

5. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated as OffNotes evolves. The product direction remains privacy-first: no account wall, local-first notes, and user-owned backups.
